So my aunt is hosting another home jewelry show for me in August, and I've got a number of sets made up now.
I always want to have pictures of my work so I spent some time outside today trying to get good shots. I don't think I ever realized how difficult jewelry photography can be!
I've read a little on how to get good photos, and I feel like the 100+ pics I took are pretty decent. The big problem is my camera - it doesn't have a macro setting. I'll definitely be purchasing a new camera, hopefully in the near future.
But for now I'm pretty happy with my results. Oh, I also recently switched from a PC to a Mac and, consequently, switched from Corel PhotoPaint to the GIMP for editing. My GIMP skills are a little rusty so any suggestions/links to tutorials are welcome.
I have been using *chat-noir's photo editing tute: [link] and it's been very helpful.

I felt it had been too long since I updated. I am still around, I just do more +faving than I do commenting or updating!
I've been working on some new jewelry pieces. Pictures to come eventually. Oh, and also a costume or two perhaps! Hopefully I will have space and time for crafty pursuits this upcoming semester and will not be on hiatus for another whole year.

College dorms are not conducive to jewelry making regarding space...so I think I'll tackle a new project.
I used to be pretty good at drawing portraits, although there's no evidence of that in this gallery, hahaha...and I'd like to get back into it. So the plan is to do 20 portraits and finish them!! Even if they are a load of - well you know. And the hope is that by the end my skills will have improved.
Thinking ambitiously, I want to do 20 male and 20 female...eventually! Wish me luck, I'll post them here once I deem them good enough. Or maybe sooner for some good crit.

Lots of new stuff coming your way! It's been decided that I should use my jewelry making to help finance school as much as possible. A wonderfully nice lady has offered to host a home show for my jewelry, so I've been working furiously on getting some new stuff made! I hope to make at least enough to cover the price of books... wish me luck! I'm also planning on doing a couple of shows at some local beauty salons.
And that just about sums up my summer!!
It's been ages since I've done any sketching, or painting for that matter, but I do hope to maybe find some time eventually to do a little watercolor painting. We'll see if that happens!

The jewelry show was today, and I sold a lot of stuff!! I was very happy with the turnout. I won't post everything I had for sale, just a few favorite pieces!
Now I have some time to relax, catch up on reading, and make a few things for myself...until school starts, that is.

Oh and I loved Deathly Hallows. Yes...there maybe could have been more of this and less of that, but overall I enjoyed it.

Hmm...it's coming up on a month now since I posted anything.
Unfortunately I don't have much that I've been working on lately. Inspiration has been a bit lacking...that and I'm lazy!

I'll work on getting some more pics of jewelry here in the near future. Maybe even an old art piece or two from class last year.
